April showers - we've had plenty! Are you starting to see flowers in your yard? We are! There are Crocus, Daffodils, Forsythia, and lots of little purple ones I let my daughter pick (what are those, anyway? Little and all over the place!). I'm so happy we can spend more time outside now that it's getting warmer.
Did you survive April vacation? I hope the calendar helped you find something fun to do with your family. We visited the Clinton Senior Center for a small egg hunt, and then midweek we visited the Lancaster Community Center for another. Last minute, we decided to visit family for Easter weekend. It was a welcome change and much needed time out of the house with the two kids.
April 22, is also Earth Day - do something good for the planet today and make it a habit to do it year-round. You could start using reusable grocery bags, take your travel mug or refillable water bottle with you instead of a disposable cup or plastic bottle. I like getting my 2.5 year old involved in sorting the recyclables. She knows were the box is and helps me to put the bottles, cans and cardboard boxes in. Once it's full, we bring it to the garage and dump it in the curbside bin. If you need more ideas, check out this great article.
This coming weekend, throughout our area, there are city- and town-wide clean ups taking place. Check out the list we put together - participating as a family is a great way to teach your kids about keeping our public spaces clean.
