Are you ready to soak up the last bits of summer fun this August? Well, get those shades on because we've got an awesome lineup of holidays and events that will add a splash of excitement to your sunny days! Let's dive right in and discover the perfect mix of play, laughter, and learning for you and your little ones:


1. World Breastfeeding Week

First off this month: Let's raise a toast to all the moms out there with their amazing breastfeeding skills! World Breastfeeding Week, supported by UNICEF and the World Health Federation in more than 120 countries, was created with the goal of providing support for breastfeeding moms everywhere. Aug. 1-7

Resources include:

Health Alliance Clinton Hospital - Nursing Mom Breastfeeding Center, Clinton, MA

The Nursing Mom Breastfeeding Center offers breastfeeding supplies, counseling, classes and support groups. If you would like to speak to a lactation consultant, they are available for private consultation during the hospital stay or after discharge. The center is open to patients and the public, and offers a supportive atmosphere for you to ask questions about breastfeeding. To contact the center, call 978-466-2365.

Heywood Hospital - Breastfeeding Support Services, Gardner, MA

Lactation Services, also known as Breastfeeding Support & Education at Heywood Hospital include In-Patient Lactation Services, Breastfeeding Mother's Support Group, Out-Patient Lactation Clinic, Breastfeeding Classes and a breast pump rental and purchase station.

The 2023 theme is Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World. Take the opportunity on International Youth Day to ask your kids what they think the most pressing issues of today are and how they think we might make progress in solving them.
